More on Today’s Markets:
But what does SSR Mining actually do? SSR Mining is a multi-mine gold and silver producer. Their operations are spread across various countries such as the U.S. (Marigold and the newly acquired Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V)), Canada (Seabee), Argentina (Puna), and Turkey (Çöpler, which is currently paused). The majority of their revenue comes from gold, with silver being the second largest revenue stream for SSR Mining.
This update will do two things. First, I will show you why I sold my stake and what I at the time expected the company to generate in terms of profitability and returns. Secondly, I will use this opportunity to preview 3Q, which is set to come out shortly, and why the results presented therein, in my view, won’t change my rating for the company (barring something truly amazing, of course; you can never discount that possibility).
In this article, I shall discuss MP Materials (NYSE:MP), a US-based miner that produces rare earth materials in the Western Hemisphere, one that is recently buoyed to new heights attributed to the ongoing trade war while continuing the theme surrounding the mining/commodity sector.

When I last discussed Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) on May 15, 2025, I gave it a buy rating. So far, that call is working out. The stock has risen by around 95% since the article’s May publication, with approximately 40% of this increase occurring from its closing price of $164.67 on Friday, October 3, to its closing price of $230.23 on October 22.
