Swifties have to wait until next month to catch the filmed version of Taylor Swift\u2019s Eras Tour in theaters, but AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. is already basking in the afterglow of the film\u2019s announcement.<\/p>\n

The theater chain said Friday that it generated $26 million in advance-ticket-sales revenue from \u201cTaylor Swift: The Eras Tour\u201d on Thursday, the day the film was announced. That easily topped the prior record for one-day single-title ticket sales, with Swift\u2019s movie dethroning \u201cSpider-Man: No Way Home,\u201d which raked in $16.9 million in its best showing on the metric. <\/p>\n

\n also noted that it only took \u201cTaylor Swift: The Eras Tour\u201d three hours to break the record for first-day 24-hour ticket sales, which was also notched by \u201cSpider-Man: No Way Home\u201d in 2011.<\/p>\n

The company plans to add additional showtimes to boost its capacity where necessary and possible. AMC has already promised four showtimes a day on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the film\u2019s run, which kicks off Oct. 13. <\/p>\n

Adult tickets for standard showings will cost $19.89, a nod to Swift\u2019s birth year and her \u201c1989\u201d album, while children and seniors will pay $13.13, a reference to Swift\u2019s lucky number.<\/p>\n

Although AMC expects to capitalize on the Swift mania, its stock has seen somewhat muted performance since Thursday\u2019s film announcement. Shares shot up by as much as 9.2% in Thursday\u2019s session but ended that day off 1.4%. They\u2019re up 3.6% in Friday morning trading, reversing declines seen earlier in the session.<\/p>\n

AMC shares are coming off their largest monthly percentage decline since the company went public in December 2013, falling 71% in the month of August. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Cinemark Holdings Inc. shares
