Republican Gov. Brian Kemp is expected to sign the new map \u2013 and two new state legislative maps \u2013 into law by the court-imposed deadline of Friday.\n  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/clpvfv8p800093b6higf7jvaj@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n      Politicians in Washington are closely monitoring redistricting moves in Georgia and several other states around the country because these maps could determine which party controls the US House of Representatives after next year\u2019s elections. Republicans currently hold a slender majority in the chamber.\n  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/clpvfv8p8000a3b6h6ijzg5kr@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n      The new Georgia congressional map complies with Jones\u2019 order to establish an additional Black-majority district but preserves the GOP\u2019s 9-5 edge in its US House delegation. The map targets Democratic Rep.
