Investing.com \u2013 India stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.<\/p>\n

At the close in NSE, the lost 0.83% to hit a new 3-months low, while the index declined 0.81%.<\/p>\n

The best performers of the session on the were Coal India <\/span><\/span> Ltd (NS:), which rose 1.23% or 3.75 points to trade at 309.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Tata Steel <\/span><\/span> Ltd (NS:) added 1.04% or 1.25 points to end at 121.25 and Hindalco Industries <\/span><\/span> Ltd. (NS:) was up 0.83% or 3.80 points to 460.50 in late trade.<\/p>\n

The worst performers of the session were Apollo Hospitals <\/span><\/span> Enterprises Ltd. (NS:), which fell 2.61% or 129.55 points to trade at 4,840.00 at the close. Infosys <\/span><\/span> Ltd (NS:) declined 2.60% or 36.65 points to end at 1,372.00 and Adani Enterprises <\/span><\/span> Ltd (NS:) was down 2.06% or 47.65 points to 2,261.00.<\/p>\n

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Steel Ltd (BO:) which rose 1.13% to 121.35, State Bank Of India (BO:) which was up 0.60% to settle at 556.35 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which gained 0.48% to close at 1,571.10.<\/p>\n

The worst performers were Infosys Ltd (BO:) which was down 2.76% to 1,370.10 in late trade, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.90% to settle at 921.85 and NTPC Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.82% to 232.15 at the close.<\/p>\n

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1452 to 614 and 40 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2356 fell and 1201 advanced, while 103 ended unchanged.<\/p>\n

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 3.74% to 11.31.<\/p>\n

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.15% or 3.05 to $1,983.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.23% or 0.19 to hit $83.55 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.09 to trade at $87.98 a barrel.<\/p>\n

USD\/INR was up 0.20% to 83.17, while EUR\/INR rose 0.05% to 87.95.<\/p>\n

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 106.27.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
